Are you feeling disconnected from your partner? I work to support you in finding stability, connection, identity, and security in yourself and your relationships. I combine a non-judgmental, humanistic framework with Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and other evidence-informed interventions to empower you to reach your goals.

My journey started with recognizing my love for activism, connection, community and organizing with my peers in the LGBTQ+ community. This expanded and ultimately led me to obtaining my Bachelor’s in Social Work. Since then, I have worked in crisis response for sexual assault survivors and high acuity residential treatment. Upon starting my Master’s in Social Work, I cemented my love for working with couples healing from conflict,  betrayal-trauma , disconnection, and grief. Additionally, I enjoy working with individuals facing life transitions, anxiety, anger management, depression, grief and identity.

I am honored to get to know you and to walk alongside you as you work toward deeper connection, clarity, and change.

I imagine you might be feeling scared, in pain, and/or in need of help. I feel honored you’re considering sharing your trust, time, and self with me so I can be of help. I operate from a trauma-informed, ethical, humanistic, experiential, intersectional, feminist, queer-affirming, person-centered framework, and have experience with individual, relationship (couple and family), group, crisis, and substance abuse counseling. I’ve enjoyed working with folks from all walks of life, and strive to help create a space where you can hopefully feel safe, understood, and accepted, so that we can both be fully the people we are.

In our work together, I’ll seek to understand your experiences from your own perspective. I honor the worth, dignity, potential, and uniqueness of all people, and will strive to meet you right where you’re at, no matter how messy and imperfect you are. I believe in your inner wisdom, and offer an environment and relationship where you can hopefully become more comfortable with your own self.

I approach my counseling work from a relational perspective, meaning I believe it’s the relationship you and I form that will be a healing force for you. I utilize evidence-based relational practice, so what I embody in our sessions is deeply rooted in scientific research and psychological theory.

I’ve spent most of my life in the Salt Lake area, and have over the years come into my own queer identities and humanistic spirituality. I feel passionate for anything artistic and creative (especially theatre), and am a proud co-parent of two cats.

You’re the expert in your own life and I am honored to support you and be part of your journey. We all grow and heal when we feel safe, understood, validated and comfortable enough to challenge ourselves. I hope to empower you to have the courage to sit with difficult emotions, break patterns of avoidance, consider new ways of thinking and ultimately, be the most authentic version of yourself.

I have experience working with anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, communication skills, boundary setting and more. My original training was primarily in CBT and I have since learned much about and incorporated narrative therapy, DBT, ACT, SFT, and most recently attachment theory and somatic training. I believe there are strategies in all modalities that can be of benefit and I strive to help you find what fits. I work with adults and particularly enjoy working with college students.

I’m originally from New Jersey and have lived in many states, of which Utah has been my favorite, before recently finding my way back to the East Coast in 2023 to be closer to family. At this time, I am only able to do telehealth appointments. I recharge in the outdoors and by traveling. The things I value most are spending time with my husband, family, friends and pets.

I began my career as an MFT in Orange County, California in 2008 and have since found my way to Utah. I have had the opportunity to work with a wide population of people and particularly enjoy working with adults, couples, families and college students. I enjoy offering unconditional positive regard to each person , and believe this is the most important trait a therapist can bring to the counseling environment.

I enjoy empowering individuals to identify their values and beliefs that provide a compass through their life transitions. I view each opportunity to join someone on their journey as an honor and a privilege.

I have experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, anger management, ADHD and other mental health issues. I enjoy working with individuals, families and couples. I currently provide counseling in the office in Provo, via telehealth and also provide Mindful Movement sessions that incorporate movement and outdoor somatic experience with therapy.

I enjoy teaching exercise classes, learning, reading, listening to podcasts, spending time with family, traveling and creative home projects.

I strive to provide everyone with a validating space as they gain the needed skills to empower themselves. I deeply honor the bravery it takes to reach out for help, and I am willing to assist you with any struggle, regardless of how large or small it seems. I take an interpersonal, strength-based approach to therapy and believe strongly in the power of vulnerability and its ability to increase connection to self and others.

I possess a strong passion for perinatal mental health. Not only do I have lived experience as a mother, but I also am a certified perinatal mental health provider through Postpartum Support International. I greatly enjoy meeting with individuals on any step of their parenting journey, from infertility and pregnancy loss, to postpartum and parenting concerns. Additionally, I am a certified ADHD clinical services provider and work with individuals to overcome their executive function challenges with compassion and evidenced-based strategies. I also have experience with a variety of other topics such as helping individuals heal their relationships with their bodies and food, finding peace following grief and loss, empowerment of self through trauma informed work, overcoming unhealthy interpersonal relationships, and learning to better manage anxiety and mood disorders.

I grew up in Idaho, and as part of my undergraduate studies, earned a Minor of Music. I  believe in the therapeutic benefit of animals and value spending time with my cat and dog. In my spare time, I love to write, do yoga, strength train, and explore outdoors with my husband and two boys.
