They, Them
I imagine you might be feeling scared, in pain, and/or in need of help. I feel honored you’re considering sharing your trust, time, and self with me so I can be of help. I operate from a trauma-informed, ethical, humanistic, experiential, intersectional, feminist, queer-affirming, person-centered framework, and have experience with individual, relationship (couple and family), group, crisis, and substance abuse counseling. I’ve enjoyed working with folks from all walks of life, and strive to help create a space where you can hopefully feel safe, understood, and accepted, so that we can both be fully the people we are.
In our work together, I’ll seek to understand your experiences from your own perspective. I honor the worth, dignity, potential, and uniqueness of all people, and will strive to meet you right where you’re at, no matter how messy and imperfect you are. I believe in your inner wisdom, and offer an environment and relationship where you can hopefully become more comfortable with your own self.
I approach my counseling work from a relational perspective, meaning I believe it’s the relationship you and I form that will be a healing force for you. I utilize evidence-based relational practice, so what I embody in our sessions is deeply rooted in scientific research and psychological theory.
I’ve spent most of my life in the Salt Lake area, and have over the years come into my own queer identities and humanistic spirituality. I feel passionate for anything artistic and creative (especially theatre), and am a proud co-parent of two cats.
